Rimutaka Prison Container Design Build

With no design or specification for the construction of the Container Accommodation for Prisoners, MCL collaborated with Rawlinsons and Opus International Ltd to produce an agreed budget, design and deadline for completion of the project.

The project consisted of 24 Completed portable buildings in various configurations to suit the requirements including Offices, Control Rooms, Dining room, Ablutions, Prison cells and plant rooms.
Running concurrently with off-site portable building construction, we had a team on site undertaking foundation and service works ready to receive the portable units.
Once the portable units were delivered, services were connected, weather proof canopies installed, plus associated site works were completed as required for site by the Prison Service.
With the above design and build approach construction timeframes were compressed and therefore minimal impact on daily prison operations was achieved.
